Folks,
Appreciate any feedback on personal experiences with visitor's medical insurance coverage. My in-laws are planning to visit this summer and I am trying to see what would be the best available option out there based on your recent experiences. There are plenty of options and I am trying to find one which the hospital/doctor can file a claim directly to or which have negotiated rates and are easy to deal with after we file a claim for reimbursement. I have read that buying insurance in US is preferred over buying from India. Any comments on that appreciated as well.

Just because you are here on an L-1A, that does not qualify you for EB1. The immigrant petition in question is likely the Multinational Manager (MM) I-140. If you were a manager abroad and are performing in a managerial role in the U.S., you may qualify for EB1. As you initially came over in L-1B status, it is more likely than not that you will not qualify for EB1.
If you were in a managerial role (either functional or personnel) abroad, it may be worth discussing this option with your attorney. Odds are that they already examined this possibility and determined that it was an unlikely to succeed.

You are in a pretty tight spot my friend. I think a lawyer is the best person to answer these questions since you are walking a very fine line here. I dont want you to rely on advice on this forum and then later find out that you were out of status and that triggers another set of challenges to deal with later. So consult a lawyer and see if he/she feels that you can stay back in US pending H1 approval. Else I would advice moving out for 1 Yr and starting things on clean slate.

Hi All,
Could any please provide some insight about the companies "Unemployment Wage report" for the state of California?
This is the only query as stated in the 221(g) form got from Chennai embassy for your reference.
"State Unemployment Wage Reports, showing all wages paid to each employee in the state, for the past two quarters as filed to State of California (This should not be payroll reports, but the actual forms filed to the State authorities listing each employee and wages paid during the quarter.)"
Could you please provide me the exact form name and number to submit through the dropbox. Also some explanation if possible on how the form will look like in order to track it down?
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

its back to the same question: IS MBA worth the time and money!
facing stagnation ..in our eternal wait for GC...what are the risks of not pursuing an MBA in you want to further or change ur career later on!
its not all bad to pursue PT..provided u make the right concentration choice!
There are success and failues in Pt programs! My friend got his MBA (PT) from UIC ..nowhere in any list..;-)...and landed a job as a director of IT for a consulting firm...his benefits and all tops 180K..now..its up to you to figure out how big a paycheck makes you a happy man.;-)
There will always be the traditionalists who believe Old school MBA is the best!..but..how many desis have the luxury of stopping work and going FT.

Come on folks - all the way to Riverhead we have tonnes of people living in these areas affected by Retrogression.
EAD is not a solution - EAD just makes our life a bit easier than on h1b - the struggle continues even on EAD.
How can you expect govt to fix your problem if you lack motivation?
Lets start mobilizing the chapter
Remember, we are no VIPs, we are in a mass distribution system and no one has special previlidges here, your lives won't change uless you motivate yourselves and speak up for yourselves.
We need a very strong resprsentation from everyone in the community.
Ignoring our requests only puts all of us in a tougher situation

For I-485 Applicant, it is not of much significance.
At POE, AP is stamped for one year (with I-94), but when it expires, it does not matter. One can continue working on H1 or EAD. And if someone is in USA on H4 (and not working on EAD) also remains in vaild status.
So there should not be any reason to worry, however, as suggested by "kshitijnt" better to get in touch with USCIS and let them do corrective action as required.
Please post your experience afterwards.

Yes. You can file another FOIA to get the I-140 approval notice.
You want to specify that you're looking for a copy of I-797 of the I-140 approval for receipt number LINXXXXXXXXXX. That should get you the approval notice.
A friend filed the FOIA with this verbiage and it worked for him. Of-course, he had to reference his Alien number etc... in the G-639 form.

you need pdf writer, use demo.
I don't think it's anything to do with pdf writer. If he is asking about forms like I-485, G-325 A etc..those have pdf security enable and wont allow you to save it. Whereas if you try I-693 form (for medical), that will allow you to save the form even if you do not have pdf writer.

I received my "Approval Notice Sent" email on Aug 13th and actually received the notice on 16th. However, never received any "Card Production Ordered" email. From your post, it looks like you received the card production email before the "Approval Notice Sent" email. I am just wondering why I didn't receive any card production ordered email.
I would imagine that once the 485 is approved, card production is automatically ordered. Any input guys?

Its probably a good thing that LCA laws are being enforced. If a person hasn't gone on the bench and has a valid LCA, I don't think that person would be affected by this.
Consulting companies who adjust with the times and work to comply with the enforcement might come out of this stronger when the recession ends.
